Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in educational settings
  • Assist with classroom activities and help students with their learning and development
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to create a supportive learning environment
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the relevant stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with ASD or special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Patient, empathetic, and understanding attitude towards students

Education:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Additional qualifications in special education or relevant field is desirable

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Demonstrated understanding of ASD and its impact on learning and behaviour

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with strategies for supporting individuals with ASD
  • Knowledge of educational practises and procedures
  • Ability to adapt and modify teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Autism Awareness or related training
  • First aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school environment
  • Potential for occasional travel to training sessions or external meetings
  • Full-time hours, with occasional flexibility required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
