Job Description:
Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in educational settings
- Assist with classroom activities and help students with their learning and development
- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to create a supportive learning environment
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the relevant stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with ASD or special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Patient, empathetic, and understanding attitude towards students
Education:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Additional qualifications in special education or relevant field is desirable
Experience:
- Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting
- Demonstrated understanding of ASD and its impact on learning and behaviour
Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with strategies for supporting individuals with ASD
- Knowledge of educational practises and procedures
- Ability to adapt and modify teaching methods to meet individual student needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Autism Awareness or related training
- First aid certification
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily within a school environment
- Potential for occasional travel to training sessions or external meetings
- Full-time hours, with occasional flexibility required
