Graduate Teaching Assistant – Special Needs Schools (Temp to Perm)

Day Rate: 84-95 per day
Contract: Temp-to-Perm (initial agency placement with potential for a permanent role)
Start Date: September - sooner if interested

Are you a passionate graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of children while developing your skills for a future career in teaching, psychology, or therapy?

We are working with a range of special needs schools looking for enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistants to support students with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and other additional needs. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, meaning you’ll start as an agency worker, with the potential to secure a permanent contract with the school.

What You’ll Be Doing:

✔ Supporting students with their learning and personal development in both group and one-to-one settings
✔ Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, tailored lessons
✔ Encouraging independence, confidence, and social skills in students
✔ Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a positive learning environment
✔ Helping with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

What We’re Looking For:

✅ A degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field (all graduates welcome!)
✅ A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs
✅ Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
✅ A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students’ needs
✅ Experience working with children (volunteering, tutoring, mentoring, or previous roles) is beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
