Job Description
Job Duties:
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting
- Assist with personal care and hygiene routines as needed
- Support the pupil's educational and social development within the classroom environment
- Implement individualised learning plans and strategies under the guidance of the SENCo
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Training or qualification in Teaching Assistant (TA) role
- Understanding of ASD and strategies to support individuals with ASD
Education:
Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Experience:
Prior experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of EYFS curriculum and teaching methods
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and understanding towards pupils with SEND
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher-level qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs
- First Aid training
Working Conditions:
- Temporary position with the possibility of extension
- Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
- Work within a primary school in Louth, Lincolnshire
- Close collaboration with teachers, SENCo, and other support staff
