A beautiful school in Market Rasen are looking for a permanent 121 SEND support staff member to join their team in January 2025! This role is to work with a Year 4 pupil with ASD/ADHD who requires 121 support throughout the day. This pupil is bright and social but can become easily overwhlemed throughout the school day and needs a secure staff member to guide them through the busyness of school. This position is to start on 6th January 2025, with interviews taking place beforehand in December 2024. The duration of this post is to run from January 2025 until July 2027 when the pupil leaves the school after completing Year 6. The role is full-time, 5-days a week, during the hours 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Develop and implement individualised educational and behavioural plans
  • Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents
  • Support with personal care and sensory needs as required

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience working with children with SEND
  • Understanding of SEND practises and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals

 

Education:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Special Educational Needs)

 

Experience:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in an educational setting

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of different SEND conditions and their impact on learning
  • Ability to adapt teaching and communication methods to meet individual needs
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in specific areas of SEND support (e.g., Makaton, Autism Awareness)

 

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
  • Work primarily within a classroom setting
  • May involve assisting with personal care and physical activities
