121 ADHD Support Assistant

Location: Grantham

Salary: £85 - £95 Per day

 

Protocol Education are looking for specialised 121 ADHD support assistants to join our team and aid in the support and development of schools in the Grantham area.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one support and assistance to students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Develop and implement individualised strategies to meet the specific needs of students with ADHD
  • Assist students in improving their academic performance and organisational skills
  • Support students in managing their time effectively and staying focused on tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and maintain a conducive learning environment
  • Monitor and record students' progress, behaviours, and achievements
  • Provide guidance and emotional support to students with ADHD
  • Help students develop self-regulation techniques and coping strategies
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during school hours
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practises and new techniques

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with ADHD or other learning disabilities
  • Strong understanding of ADHD and its impact on students' learning and behaviour
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students
  • Organisational skills to effectively manage individualised support plans

 

Education:

  • A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Any additional relevant qualifications in Special Education or related fields would be advantageous

 

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ADHD and its impact on students
  • Familiarity with different teaching and support strategies for students with ADHD
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to ensure student safety
  • Proficiency in using relevant technology and educational tools
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Additional certifications or training in ADHD support

 

Working Conditions:

  • Work will primarily take place within an educational institution
  • Full-time hours, typically following the school timetable
  • Temporary position, with the possibility of extension based on the needs of the students
  • Close collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Regular meetings and training sessions to attend
