Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual who loves to make a positive impact? We’re looking for a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a lovely primary school in Colchester. This full-time role is perfect for someone who is eager to start immediately and help a child thrive both academically and socially.
Your Role
- Offering one-on-one support to a child with special educational needs, helping them engage with learning
- Assisting with classroom tasks and providing support during lessons
- Encouraging the child’s social skills and positive behaviour both in and out of the classroom
- Working closely with the class teacher to ensure the child’s learning needs are being met
- Supporting the child with personal care needs as required
- Helping maintain a safe and inclusive environment where the child feels valued and understood
- Keeping track of the child’s progress and liaising with the SENCO and other school staff to support their development
What We’re Looking For
- A caring, patient individual who enjoys working with children
- Experience with SEN or a willingness to learn and adapt to different needs
- A team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
- Someone who can create a warm, encouraging, and supportive learning environment
- Flexibility and a proactive mindset to support children with a variety of needs
- An understanding of the importance of individual learning plans and the ability to adapt tasks accordingly
