Your Role as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide Tailored Support: Work closely with a child with high SEN needs, adapting support to meet their individual requirements.
Foster Independence: Encourage and develop the child’s confidence, communication, and independence.
Assist in Learning Activities: Support the child during lessons, helping them access the curriculum and engage with learning.
Collaborate with Staff: Work as part of a team with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
️ Promote Safeguarding: Uphold the child’s safety and wellbeing, adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies at all times.
What We’re Looking For:

Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with high SEN needs, particularly in a 1:1 capacity.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A current enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- A proactive and flexible attitude to meet the demands of the role.

Desirable Skills:
- Training or experience in areas such as Autism, ADHD, or Speech and Language Therapy.
- Knowledge of strategies and tools to support SEN pupils effectively.
- A relevant qualification in education or childcare.
