Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who display challenging behaviour
  • Implement individualised learning strategies and behaviour management techniques
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support the inclusion of students in all aspects of the school environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with SEND, particularly those with challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques

Education:

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience:

Experience working with students with SEND and challenging behaviour

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Ability to implement individualised learning strategies
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher
  • Training in de-escalation techniques

Working Conditions:

This role involves working within a school setting, supporting students with SEND and challenging behaviour. The working hours are full-time, and the role may require flexibility in dealing with various student needs and behaviour challenges.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
