1-1 SEND Support Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a 1-1 SEND Support in our Doncaster SEND provision. As a 1-1 SEND Support, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis, providing personalized support based on their specific needs and abilities.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Implement strategies and accommodations outlined in students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure their academic and social progress.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement appropriate interventions and strategies.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, documenting observations and providing feedback to the SEND Coordinator.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from the SEND Coordinator.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and implement new strategies and approaches.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
