Job Duties:
The 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant with SEMH will provide support to a student with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Duties include assisting the student in their educational and personal development, implementing tailored strategies to support their learning, and collaborating with the SENCO and teaching staff to create a supportive environment.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Experience working with students with SEMH is essential.
Education:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are required. Additional SEN training is desirable.
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an educational setting, preferably with students with SEMH.
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning. Ability to implement behaviour management strategies effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional SEN qualifications such as Team Teach or Makaton would be advantageous.
Working Conditions:
This role involves working closely with a specific student, providing support in the classroom and potentially during outdoor activities. The candidate must be patient, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a challenging but rewarding environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
