Job Duties:

The 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated support to a student with non-verbal communication needs. This includes assisting the student in their academic and social development, implementing individualised education plans, and promoting inclusivity within the classroom.

Required Qualifications:

1. Relevant experience working with students with special educational needs.

2. Knowledge of non-verbal communication strategies and techniques.

3. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

Education:

A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Understanding of SEN practises and principles.

2. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the student.

3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional training in SEN support or related fields would be advantageous.

Working Conditions:

This role involves working within a classroom environment, collaborating with teachers and other support staff. The ability to remain patient, compassionate, and flexible is essential to effectively support the student.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
