Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)

Location: Romford, Greater London, England

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Salary: £83.85 - £90 Per day

Benefits: £50 referral fee

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the SEMH category
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans and behaviour management strategies
  • Support the emotional and social development of students
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to create a supportive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Understanding of SEN principles and best practises

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of SEMH and strategies to support students with these needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Training in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position with the possibility of extension
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
