Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with a prosthetic limb in an educational setting
  • Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • Support the child with personal care needs, if required
  • Implement strategies to promote the child's independence and inclusion
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Knowledge of supporting children with physical disabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Understanding of the SEN Code of Practise
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the child

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in supporting children with physical disabilities
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience with assistive technology

Working Conditions:

  • Work hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
  • Work environment: Educational setting, including classrooms and outdoor areas
  • Potential for personal care assistance, as needed
  • Collaborative work with teachers, therapists, and other professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
