Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a classroom setting
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
  • Support students in their academic and social development
  • Help with classroom management and behaviour support
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team

Education:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable

Experience:

  • Experience working in a classroom setting with special educational needs students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its impact on learning
  • Ability to adapt and tailor support to individual student needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in special educational needs (SEN)
  • First aid training

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a classroom environment
  • Full-time hours, temporary position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
