Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), focusing on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
  • Safeguard the well-being and safety of students at all times
  • Support students in their academic and social development
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and relevant legislation

Education:

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEMH conditions and effective support strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good understanding of safeguarding procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in areas related to Special Educational Needs and SEMH support
  • First Aid qualification

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school setting with varying levels of noise and activity
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviour from students
  • Regular collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
