Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant with experience working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). The ideal candidate will provide tailored support to students to help them achieve their academic and personal development goals.
Job Duties:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH in a classroom setting
- Assist students with their learning activities and academic progress
- Implement individualised education plans and behaviour management strategies
- Support students in developing social and emotional skills
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant experience working with students with SEMH
- Understanding of special educational needs and inclusive education practises
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
Education:
Ideally a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
Experience:
Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of SEMH and strategies to support students with these needs
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student requirements
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Children and Young People's Mental Health
- Training in behaviour management techniques
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in a classroom environment, providing 1:1 support to students with SEMH. The position is temporary and requires full-time availability during school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
