Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an educational setting
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour interventions
  • Assist in classroom activities and promote social interaction
  • Support the learning and development of students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure a supportive learning environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism or SEN
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques

Education:

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Experience:

Prior experience working with individuals with Autism or SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and SEN strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with special needs

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a classroom setting within an educational institution
  • Full-time hours, temporary position
  • Potential for exposure to challenging behaviours

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
