Job Description:

Job Duties:

The 1:1 SEN LSA with Autism will work closely with a student with Autism, providing individualised support and assistance in a classroom setting. Duties include implementing strategies outlined in the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP), helping with academic tasks, promoting social interaction, and supporting emotional regulation.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or relevant experience
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

A degree or equivalent qualification in Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable.

Experience:

Prior experience working as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or in a similar role within an educational setting is advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Autism and strategies for supporting individuals with ASD
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of the student
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in behaviour management or SEN support
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs

Working Conditions:

The role involves working within a classroom environment, collaborating with teachers and other support staff. The position may require some flexibility in working hours to accommodate the student's schedule.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
