Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with ADHD in an educational setting
  • Implement individualised learning plans to meet the specific needs of the student
  • Assist the student with academic tasks and classroom activities
  • Support the student in developing social skills and managing behaviour
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Understanding of ADHD and strategies to support students with this condition
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Experience:

Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant with students with SEN, particularly ADHD

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN policies and procedures
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Mental Health First Aid training

Working Conditions:

  • Work in an educational setting with a focus on supporting students with SEN

  • Collaboration with teachers, parents, and external professionals
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviours

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
