Job Description
Job Duties:
- Provide one-to-one support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) specifically focusing on Autism
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
- Support the classroom teacher in creating a positive learning environment
- Help students to participate in classroom activities and facilitate their social interactions
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and other relevant staff
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience working with students with Autism and SEN
- Knowledge of SEN practises and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Education:
GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
Experience:
Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of Autism and SEN needs
- Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual student requirements
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Training in Autism awareness and interventions
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in a classroom environment with students with Autism and SEN. The work may be physically demanding at times, requiring standing, walking, and assisting students as needed. The position is temporary and expected to be full-time hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
