What You’ll Do:
- Nurture & Inspire: Build meaningful relationships with pupils, offering tailored support to help them shine academically and personally.
- Be Their Guide: Support children with Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, and other unique needs in lessons, helping them understand and engage with their learning.
- Motivate & Encourage: Use hands-on, practical strategies to inspire progress, while providing emotional and behavioural support where needed.
- Create Connections: Be a friendly face during lunchtime, ensuring children feel included and supported throughout their day.
- Lead by Example: Apply consistent rules, demonstrate fairness, and use your de-escalation skills to maintain a calm, positive environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Whether you’re experienced or just starting, your attitude and commitment matter most!
- Experience or Interest in SEN: Background in supporting children with autism, ADHD, or speech/language difficulties is a plus. No experience? No problem – an eagerness to learn goes a long way!
- Adaptability & Resilience: Flexible and positive, you’re ready to tackle any challenge with a smile.
- Team Player: Great communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Curiosity for Learning: Familiarity with the EYFS or KS1 curriculum and strategies for engaging pupils with complex needs is helpful—but we’ll support your growth if you’re new to this field!
Qualifications & Skills:
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is a plus.
- Solid English and Maths skills are essential.
- Basic computer literacy is handy for day-to-day tasks.
- Experience with challenging behaviour is a bonus, but don’t worry—training is available.
