Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with special educational needs, adapting strategies to meet their unique learning and behavioral requirements.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring the child remains focused and included in all activities.
  • Foster a nurturing, positive relationship that builds the child’s confidence and independence.
  • Monitor and document progress, sharing insights with teachers, SENCO, and parents to support collaborative development.
  • Promote inclusion within the classroom and the wider school environment.

What We’re Looking For 

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (autism, ADHD, or other needs) is highly desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills – collaboration is key!
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the child and school.
  • An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
