Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with special educational needs, adapting strategies to meet their unique learning and behavioral requirements.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring the child remains focused and included in all activities.
- Foster a nurturing, positive relationship that builds the child’s confidence and independence.
- Monitor and document progress, sharing insights with teachers, SENCO, and parents to support collaborative development.
- Promote inclusion within the classroom and the wider school environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (autism, ADHD, or other needs) is highly desirable.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills – collaboration is key!
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the child and school.
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
