Protocol Education is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEMH needs in a KS1/KS2 class.

About the role

The 1:1 Teaching Assistant in a Primary School will primarily support a child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs while also assisting the rest of the class. The 1:1 Teaching Assistant will be working in a KS1/2 class, so familiarity with the KS1/2 National Curriculum is essential. The successful candidate should be a nurturing and caring individual with strong behavior management skills and experience working with pupils with SEND. The role involves:

  • Working in EYFS / KS1 / KS2
  • Providing intervention support
  • Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis
  • Providing support for SEN pupils
  • Full-time & Long Term contract

Requirements

To be considered for the role of 1:1 (SEMH) Primary Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • Solid academics: Degree, A Levels, GCSEs
  • Previous experience working with children (Voluntary or Paid)
  • Experience working with children with SEN or Speech & Language difficulties
  • A passion for the progress of primary school pupils
  • An engaging and upbeat personality
  • Confidence and reliability
  • An ability to work as part of a team
  • Updated CV covering the last 10 years
