Key Details:
- Start Date: January
- Salary: £85-£95 per day (dependent on experience)
- Location: Local Primary and SEND Schools
- Experience/Knowledge of ASD: Essential (professional or personal experience welcome)
- Right to Work in the UK: Essential
- Driving Licence: Beneficial
- Education/SEND-related Qualifications: Beneficial but not essential
Role Responsibilities:
As a 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to students with ASD, adapting activities and strategies to meet individual needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD.
- Support classroom activities, ensuring that students with ASD are included and engaged in lessons.
- Help students develop social and communication skills through structured activities and support in peer interactions.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and school staff to ensure appropriate interventions are in place.
- Promote positive behavior and manage challenging behaviors in a calm, professional manner.
- Work closely with teachers and SEND coordinators to create a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment.
- Provide personal care and pastoral support as required, ensuring the well-being of the student is a top priority.
