Are you passionate about providing tailored support to children with additional needs? A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Ealing is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Specialist Teaching Assistant to work closely with a pupil who requires individual support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with specific learning needs, helping them to engage with the curriculum and reach their potential.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment for the child.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENDCO, and external professionals to ensure the pupil receives comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and document the pupil’s progress, contributing to reports and meetings as required.
  • Promote the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development through tailored interventions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEND in a 1:1 or small-group capacity.
  • A strong understanding of SEND strategies and the ability to adapt approaches to suit individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting pupils with additional challenges.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEND is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
