This role is temporary via an agency but for the right person a temp to perm role would be considered.
About the School
We require a talented teacher of science with strong subject knowledge and a passion for bringing their subject to life for our students. The successful candidate will support the Head of Science in designing and delivering a high-quality curriculum across the key stages, as well as creating opportunities for enrichment and extra-curricular work. The role would serve as excellent preparation for future progression towards a Head of Science role or other leadership opportunity.
Candidates must be a model of good practice in the teaching of Science from KS3-5 and have the skills and experience to support curriculum development and to promote high standards within the Science department.
Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective science lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs
- Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student curiosity and enthusiasm for science
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and participate in extracurricular activities
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education
- Experience teaching science at the secondary level, preferably in a similar setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
