Position: Teaching Cover Supervisor

Full Time 8:30 - 3:30

Start Date: September 2024.

 

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Teaching Cover Supervisor to join our team starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students continue their learning and maintain good behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with the work set by the absent Teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Support students with their learning and provide assistance as needed.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure that learning objectives are met.
  • Maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.
  • Report back to the regular teacher on student progress and any issues that arose during the lesson.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • A genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
  • A minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • A degree or further qualifications in education or a related field.

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Recent graduate in a relevant field (e.g. Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, English, Maths,  Science, RE ect)
  • Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and personal growth.
