Supply Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team on a supply basis. As an HLTA, you will be responsible for supporting teaching and learning across various subjects and year groups, under the direction of the classroom teacher. Your role will involve leading small groups, delivering pre-planned lessons, providing targeted intervention, and supporting students with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small group activities and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
  • Support the classroom teacher in planning and preparing engaging learning activities.
  • Provide targeted intervention to individuals or small groups of students to support their academic progress.
  • Assist in the assessment of students' learning and provide feedback to the classroom teacher.
  • Support students with SEN by implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to learning.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
  • Experience working in a similar role within a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Knowledge of relevant educational policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different year groups and subjects.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
